Finance & Performance Manager (6 - 12 months FTC)
Due to an exciting period of expansion, we are looking for a collaborative and values-driven Finance & Performance Manager to join our internal operations team on a part-time basis. Currently, we anticipate this being ~2-4 days per week (exact hours negotiable).
This is a strategic and hands-on role suitable for an experienced financial professional who is interested in supporting a fast-growing business to develop systems and processes fit for the next stage of its development.
You will be responsible for developing our financial strategy and approach to reporting and working with the board and directors to establish and embed key project controls that improve profitability, resilience and long-term value.
This will involve coaching our consulting team to embed new ways of working and develop greater commerciality. You will lead the month, tax and year-end processes, working closely with external accountants and the internal consulting team to ensure financial and commercial insights drive business operations.

About the role:
What you can expect in this role...
Financial Strategy, Budgeting and Forecasting: You will lead on budgeting and forecasting to inform the annual business planning cycle as well as the medium-term five-year growth blueprint, aligning revenue goals, cash flow management and cost management.
Reporting: You will take responsibility for producing monthly reports to SMT and Board, integrating a range of KPIs to support medium- and longer-term decision making.
Commercial oversight: You will provide oversight of the commercial and contractual processes, including commercial and legal review and sign off on key contracts during the sales process. Where necessary, you will support capability building within the organisation to bolster commercial skills, supporting consulting teams to run profitability reports on their live projects, and working with them to implement processes to monitor and respond to commercial risks (e.g. individual engagement profitability). You will be responsible for key contracts with external IT service providers and legal firms to coordinate input.
Pricing: You will coordinate the company’s approach to pricing, working alongside the board and director team to ensure that our pricing approach aligns to market positioning. You will establish processes to ensure pricing is adhered to, and any exceptions are linked to clear business objectives.
Financial Operations: Working alongside our business support team, you will ensure that we have robust financial processes for invoicing, debt management, and effective income recovery (e.g., POs), and that these workflows are embedded in the business and contribute to regular, insightful financial analysis.
About you:
A great ‘31tenner’ is ambitious, proactive and thinks outside the box, but above all else, is passionate about social impact and supporting the public sector.
We’re looking for a commercially sharp, strategically minded finance professional who enjoys building the framework that helps a growing business scale successfully. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into practical business insight
Confident advising and constructively challenging senior stakeholders, including Board-level colleagues
Ability to design and embed financial controls and governance processes without creating unnecessary bureaucracy
Clear and persuasive communicator, able to coach non-finance colleagues to improve financial literacy and commercial awareness
Highly organised with strong attention to detail, able to balance strategic work with hands-on delivery
Comfortable working independently in a part-time capacity while maintaining visibility and influence across the organisation
